A leading financial PR consultancy, working with major players in asset management and top level investment boutiques is seeking to recruit an account director. This is a prestigious opportunity for a polished and talented professional.
You will join a team of outstanding, client-focused individuals who provide excellent customer service through developing communications strategies and media relations solutions. You should have a sound understanding of the financial services sector with particular reference to retail and institutional investment and a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role working with companies promoting financial services and products to charities, pension funds and private wealth managers or a background in financial journalism.
A strong background in media liaison; drafting press statements, organising press conferences and briefing journalists is essential. Experience of utilising social media also an advantage. As well as managing existing accounts the ability to generate new business and present pitches is expected
Responsibilities will include:
" A primary point of contact for flagship accounts
" Day-to-day account management to ensure that client and press demands are met promptly and precisely
" Proactive and reactive media liaison: arranging and attending briefings with relevant journalists and ensuring the prompt delivery of information on request
" Organising and managing press events and corporate hospitality on behalf of clients
" Providing input into devising and implementing PR solutions for clients
" Drafting final copy press releases and client reports and proposals
The ideal candidate will have:
" A sound understanding of the financial services industry, retail and institutional investment in particular
" The confidence to lead account management with minimal supervision
" The ability to communicate with clients at all levels
" Strong media contacts within relevant media (personal finance journalists on national publications, financial advisory and institutional trade press)
" Some experience of new business generation/pitch presentation
" The ability to work as part of a close team of colleagues
" Positive, hands-on attitude
" Experience in the social media space would be valuable as clients are increasingly using this communication channel
